As the President of Dream Cruises, Thatcher Brown is responsible for providing strategic leadership for Dream Cruises, a new cruise line developed by Genting Hong Kong Limited to specifically cater to the large and rapidly growing high-end market in China and Asia.
Thatcher is assigned to define, implement and manage the long-range goals, strategies and operations of the region’s first-ever Asian luxury cruise line.
Dream Cruises aims to be a pacesetter in the cruise industry in the region and will deliver an inspirational luxury-cruise vacation experience to meet the needs of the ‘emerging generation’ of confident, independently-minded and affluent Asian vacation traveller.
Prior to joining Dream Cruises, Thatcher worked for Costa Cruises, between 2012 and 2015 where he served as Director On Board Revenues and Guest Experience, and then, Vice President On Board Revenues and Product Development. In 2014, Thatcher Brown was also appointed Chairman of Costa Crociere Foundation.
With over 25 years of experience in international hospitality and travel related businesses, Thatcher has worked in C-suite management, executive marketing and senior consulting roles for many of the biggest names in the industry including the Jumeirah Group, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Crystal Cruises.
He has worked in the lifestyle travel sector for Conde Nast Publishing and in consultancy positions for Arthur Andersen & Co. and The Spire Group, a service strategy firm.
Thatcher developed a thorough background in hotel/ resort operations with management positions at The Four Seasons Biltmore Resort, Santa Barbara, The Savoy Group of Hotels, London, and the Barrows House, Vermont.
Thatcher graduated from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Management. He also attended Wesleyan University, (Middletown, CT) for two years as a Latin American Studies major.
Thatcher Brown has worked in United States, Canada, United Arab Emirates, and Europe. He and his family are now based in Hong Kong.
