Hailed by Time Out Magazine as one of the Top 20 musicians in Hong Kong, Saturnino has been an active and importat part of the cultural, musical and educational community in Hong Kong and the Philippines for over 20 years.
He is a freelance percussionist playing with the Philippine Pops Orchestra, Harrow International School Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble, NB4 Midnight ( rock band ), Syzygy ( jazz band ), The John Chen Ensemble ( improvisation/ jazz
band ), William Elvin & The Circus Tour ( Filipino band ), Discovery Brass, Discovery Bay Big Band, and many more. In Hong Kong, he played drumset in some shows with Marsha Yuan ( HK Actress & Singer ) and Music Director Amuer Calderon under Pei Pei Productions Co. such as “All You Need is Love“ ( 2016 ), “Marsha Yuan Yang Music“ ( 2015 ) and “A Marshacal Night“ ( 2015 ).
Saturnino has played professional orchestras and wind bands in the Philippines including with the Philippine
Philharmonic Orchestra, Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra, Metro Manila Community Orchestra, Crosswave Symphoniy Orchestra and Peace Philharmonic Philippines from Cebu. He has also participated in a number of Asian Youth Orchestra tours including the 20th and 25th anniversary performances with Maestro James Judd, Maestro Pontzious and guest artist Allan Tam ( HK Canto-Pop Singer ) held at the Hong Kong Stadium. Lastly, he was a former performer and Band Leader in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort from 2005 to 2015.
Saturnino is an active educator in Hong Kong and in the Philippines. He teaches in Harrow International School, Tom Lee Music Academy under the Chris Brien Drumming System, private tutorials, music lessons in Allway Kindergarten and teaches Kindermusik in Hong Kong.
A recipient of numerous awards, in 2014, Saturnino was awarded “Bagong Bayani (New Hero) for Culture and the Arts“ by POEA and Bagong Bayani Foundation, Inc. In 2016, he was the Senior Overall Winner for Instrument- Jazz, Gold medal winner for Instrument – Contemporary, Open, Original works, Jazz and Silver medal for Instrument- Classical at the 20th Annual World Championships of Performing Arts held in Long Beach Performing Arts, Los Angeles, California, USA.
